The HST filter on my TC25D is leaking. What is the best way to correct this? Do I need to replace the filter? Is there some sort of gasket sealant I can use?

Chris, I have no experiance with Hydrostatic equipment (yet)so I don't know how much help I can be. I would think and believe that an HST filter is like a automobile filter with that flat rubber O Ring on it. If that O ring is in good shape and the filter is tight it shouldn't leak. I think before I tryed using a bandaid type fix, ie gasket sealer. I would check the gasket and replace the filter if necessary. The old addage (as my Dad use to say) If your going to fix it, fix it right. Good Luck. Mark ....

Chris, unless it's just loose (highly unlikely), I'd replace the filter and while I was at it, inspect the base or plate the filter gasket fits against to make sure there's no manufacturing flaw or anything else to keep the new filter gasket from fitting smoothly and tightly against it. Is there a possibility the fitting it screws onto is not straight? ....
